Can you think of many better ways to understand the triumph and tragedy behind the state's rich history than to experience Michigan's maritime museums?
Nope, neither can I!
So it was exciting when the folks at Experience Michigan Magazine asked me to explore the life and lore of Great Lakes history by spotlighting some of the state's best maritime museum experiences.
My byline recently appeared in the spring/summer issue of Experience Michigan, a publication appearing as an insert in Chicagoland area newspapers twice each year.
I always enjoy writing about my home state of Michigan, but I got an even bigger charge out of seeing the publication of this particular story because I recently received a hard copy of the publication in my snail-mail box!
I spent a number of years writing for local newspapers, and while I've easily made the transition to writing and publishing online, there are still some folks who wonder why they no longer see my byline in print. So, it is nice to see the physical proof that my writing career still endures!
