Visiting Geneva-on-the-Lake is a tradition among many northern Ohio and western Pennsylvania families, and celebrity campers like Harvey Firestone, Henry Ford and John D. Rockefeller called GOTL their summer home during the town's early 1900s heyday.
Today, the town has a comforting retro feeling that attracts multi-generational visits and scores of new visitors discovering this Lake Erie resort area 50 miles east of Cleveland.
Check out our visit to GOTL and explore its rich history with my latest story on the Ohio Tourism Division's Discovering Ohio blog.
Be sure to check out my stories about GOTL and Geneva State Park here at Midwest Guest: Visiting the Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake on Lake Erie's southern shore; Visiting Ohio's Grand River Valley wineries; and Four-season fun at Ohio's Geneva State Park.
