I love taking photos of carousel animals with their intricate carving, bright paint, and individual personalities.
These shots come from 1928 Spillman Carousel at Michigan's Grand Rapids Public Museum, a menagerie-style carousel that includes brightly painted ponies, as well as a tiger, deer, goat, camel, lion, and giraffe.

I love carousels! We've had the opportunity to ride a few new ones (new to us, at least) this summer, and it's been great.
Beautiful photos!

Sonja-I love the colors, too. They really make the carousels such great things to photograph.
Sarah-I don't get to ride carousels too often, and Tim won't go on with me when I do...so this was a real treat for me.
